CHIT CHAT:  The Aggies will host Elon for their final game of 2012. A&T will look to end the year on a high note, and return to their winning ways after a tough 58-39 loss at Virginia Tech on Dec. 28.  The Aggies will rely on senior JaQuayla Berry who has scored in double figures in four consecutive games. In their last meeting, the Aggies defeated the Phoenix 90-60 on Nov 21, 2008.

From the Coach: "If we had played this game a couple of days later-instead, we took days off and I think we just got away from the things that we worked on in the first half of the season."

It's a "Lock": Aggies senior forward JaQuayla Berry has scored 20-plus points 12 times in her career. The Aggies are 9-3 when she goes for 20 or more.

The Opponent: The Phoenix shoots .408 from the floor as a team this season, and is averaging 65.2 points per game.  Elon returns four starters and nine letterwinners from last year's 16-14 team under first-year head coach Charlotte Smith.  Elon was picked to finish fifth in the Southern Conference.  Seniors Kelsey Evans and Ali Ford were named to the preseason all-conference team.  Ford is leading the team by averaging 16.8 points per game. Ford was named to the All-SoCon second team, and Sam Coffer was named to the All-Freshman team last season.

Potential Gameday Star Power: North Carolina A&T:  Senior forward JaQuayla Berry has led the team in scoring in six of the team's 11 games this season.  She leads the team with an average of 12.5 points per game, and has tallied double-figure points in seven games, including her last four.  Elon: Senior Kelsey Evans recorded a double-double on Dec. 29 at East Carolina with 20 points and 13 rebounds in Elon's 71-64 loss. Evans is averaging 14.7 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this season.  Ford was named to the All-SoCon first team in 2012.

The Magic Number for A&T: 40: The Aggies are 4-1 this season when shooting above 40 percent from the field in a game, and are 2-4 when they shoot less than 40 percent.

From the Notes:
Senior JaQuayla Berry needs just two points to pass Jaleesa Sams on the all-time career scoring list for sole possession of 11th place.  Sams has 1,180 points, while Berry enters Monday's game with 1,179.  Berry is also eighth on the career rebounding list with 545, and eighth on the all-time steals list with 216.

The Aggies have earned three weekly conference honors this month.  Eboni Ross was named MEAC Rookie of the Week on Dec. 3.  Amber Calvin was named MEAC Player of the Week on Dec. 17 and JaQuayla Berry was named MEAC Player of the Week on Dec. 24.
