King, McRae Earn Second-Team Honors
King, a 5-foot-10 guard from Alexandria, Va., led the Aggies (23-5 overall) to their second consecutive 20-plus win season. She averaged a team-best 13.5 points per game in the regular season and also led the Aggies in rebounds (6.1) and steals (82). She is ranked second in the league in steals (3.0), 13th in scoring and 15th in rebounding.
King has led A&T in scoring 15 times this season while scoring in double figures 20 times. She posted a season-high 22 points against Georgia State on Nov. 15 and against Coppin State on Jan. 27. King also grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds against NCCU on Jan. 22.
McRae, a 6-3center from Raleigh, made her debut for A&T this season. She is third on the team in rebounds (5.2) and has averaged 8.8 points per game. McRae has tallied double digits in scoring nine times and has led the Aggies in scoring three times.
McRae put up a career-high 20 points over NCCU on Jan. 22. She finished with 10 rebounds each against Appalachian State on Dec. 4 and S.C. State on March 3. McRae also notched a career-high three blocks over Savannah State on March 1.
The Aggies earned the No. 2 seed for the second straight season with a 13-3 conference record heading into the MEAC tournament at the Norfolk Scope. A&T will play at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12 against the winner of the 7/10 game between Bethune-Cookman and S.C. State. The Wildcats and Bulldogs will play Tuesday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m.
