TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-The North Carolina A&T volleyball team was swept for the second time this season by the Florida A&M Rattlers, falling by 25-13, 25-19, 25-21 on Friday night in the Al Lawson Center.

Freshman Brooke Stamnes led the Aggies with eight kills, while senior Andrea Evans tallied seven kills and posted a .400 hitting percentage in the match.  Freshman Ashley Johnson collected 14 digs.

The Aggies had a rough start, as they posted six kills and a -.100 hitting percentage in the first set, but progressively hit better in the match.  A&T hit .250 in the third set, as they worked to pick up a set victory.  But the Aggies had trouble holding down the Rattlers (10-9, 8-0) offense, as three FAMU athletes scored double-digit kills and the Rattlers hit .304 in the contest.

"In system, we were great but it was too far in between," said A&T head coach Hal Clifton.  "They had a very balanced system in serve receive and on defense.  They spread us too thin."

The Aggies and Rattlers were tied at 6 in the first set before the Rattlers went on a 9-0 run and later a 7-0 run to take a commanding lead.    A&T started off the second game with the lead, and saw the score tied at 10 on a service error by Pamela Barerra.  But then FAMU's Andrea Soriano collected three straight kills to put the Rattlers ahead.  A kill by Stamnes brought A&T within three points at 20-17 as the Aggies worked to overcome the deficit, but FAMU took the set.

In the third set, the Aggies pulled within a point at 16-15 on a kill by freshman Te'Borah Hawkins-Hollingsworth.  But after that play, a service error by freshman Jasmine Jones gave the Rattlers control of the ball, and FAMU posted a 4-0 run to restore their cushion.

The Aggies (1-28, 1-6) will travel to Daytona Beach to face Bethune-Cookman on Sunday at 1 p.m.  They will host their final two matches of the regular season in Moore Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 11.
