GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T bowling team finished in seventh place at the Virginia Union University (VUU) Invitational on Sunday after posting a 1-2 record in bracket play.

The Aggies headed into bracket play as the No. 1 seed but dropped its first two games on Sunday to Virginia Union 4-1, sending them to the loser’s bracket where they lost to Virginia State 4-3 in a close game. A&T finished the day with a 4-1 win against Winston-Salem State.

A&T closed out the tournament with the highest total pinfall through three days with 4,673. The Aggies won nine straight games in the first two days of the invitational.

St. Francis won the tournament, followed by Bowie State, Sacred Heart, Virginia Union, N.C. Central, Va. State, Winston-Salem, St. Augustine’s, New Jersey City, and Chowan.

The Aggies will compete in the second MEAC Meet beginning on Saturday, Dec. 7 which will be hosted by Bethune-Cookman.
