GREENSBORO (February 1, 2017) – The North Carolina A&T football program released their 2017 National Signing Day Class on Wednesday. The list includes 17 players with 10 players from North Carolina, two players from Greensboro and six players who play offensive line.

Malik Blassingame, OL, 6-2, 330, Anderson, S.C. (Westside) 
Blassingame brings a lot of size, strength and power to the Aggies offensive line … He will likely play guard for the Aggies but he is versatile … Led Westside to a 10-2 record while helping the Rams compile 350 yards of offense per game … As of his junior year, he was benching 335 pounds, squatting 465 and power cleaning 290.

Jalen Fowler, QB, 6-3, 240, Spartanburg, S.C. (Dorman)
Broke a school record with seven total touchdowns (6 running, 1 passing) in a game … Named first-team All-Region, first-team All-Area and team offensive most valuable player … Had a single -season school record 3,789 yards of total offense and accounted for 43 touchdowns ... As a senior completed 228 of 348 passes for 3,122 yards and 21 touchdowns ... Rushed for 667 yards and 22 touchdowns ... 

Macquel Hardy, OL, 6-3, 295, Philadelphia, Pa. (ASA Junior College, Prep Charter Academy)
Should make an immediate impact on the Aggies offensive line … Could potentially play some center for the Aggies as well as guard.

Devin Harrell, DL, 6-2, 220, Gastonia, N.C. (Hunter Huss)
As a senior, Harrell finished with 21 sacks, 99 tackles and 26 tackles for loss … Was named Big South Conference defensive player of the year … Named first-team All-Gazette.

Kyin Howard, LB, 6-0, 230, Greensboro, N.C. (Eastern Guilford)
Led Eastern Guilford to the Class 3-AA state championship game … Named Burlington Times-News All-Region and All-Region Defensive Player of the Year ... Named All Mid-State 3-A conference and All-Area by the News & Record.

Karfa Kaba, DL, 6-4, 250, Laurinburg, N.C. (Scotland County)
Scotland County High School has been good to N.C. A&T and the Aggies hope Karfa Kaba is no different … He finished with 61 unassisted tackles, 10 sacks and recovered two fumbles … Led Scotland to a 14-1 mark and an appearance in the Class 4-A state championship game.

Dontae Keys, OL, 6-4, 310, Fayetteville, N.C. (Jack Britt)
Led a young offensive line as a senior … Helped Jack Britt to an 11-2 record as a junior … Can play guard or tackle … He was an all-conference performer.

Zachary Leslie, WR, 6-3, 188, Lawndale, N.C. (Palmetto Prep Academy)
Leslie is a two-time scholar athlete and was named team captain as a junior and a senior … Also earned all-conference honors ... Played in a Wing-T offense in high school before attending Palmetto Prep.

Christian Marshall, OL, 6-4, 295, Columbus, Ohio, Graduate Transfer: Jackson State
Played left tackle for the Tigers … Helped the Tigers rush for 103.5 yards per game.

Amir McNeil, DB, 5-10, 165, Laurinburg, N.C., Scotland County
Has tremendous speed … Runs a 4.45 in the 40-yard dash … Helped Scotland record a 14-1 record and a spot in the state championship game  … He was second-team All-Cape Fear … May also be a standout as a kick returner.

Jalen Pittman, WR/DB, 6-0, 180, Wake Forest, N.C., Heritage
Another player who will be able to perform multiple task for the Aggies … Was an outstanding returner at Heritage … Had a 1,000-yards receiving as a junior and senior … Also rushed for a combined 1,071 yards over his final two seasons … He was named co-special teams player of the year in the Cap 8 conference.

Artavious Richardson, DL, 6-2, 230, Rocky Mount, N.C., Rocky Mount
Played weak-side defensive end in high school … Was a 3-star athlete by Scout.com … Made 107 tackles, 10 sacks and 16 tackles for loss as a senior … Helped Rocky Mount win the Class 3-A state title as a junior … Named an all-conference and All-Area performer.

Davis Rogers, PK, 5-9, 165, Spartanburg, S.C., Dorman    
Made 7 of 9 field goals and 47 of 52 extra points … Had a long of 42 yards as a field goal kicker. 

Noel Ruiz, PK/P, 6-0, 165, Wilson, N.C., Fike
Ruiz is a 3-star recruit by Scout.com … Forty-one of his 45 kickoffs were touchboacks ... Made a school-record 49-yard field .., Named All-Area and averaged 34.4 yards per punt. 

Chamberlain Russell, OL, 6-4, 358, Pfafftown, N.C., Fork Union Prep
Has height, agility and power … Has good feet and great reach to keep defenders away from the quarterback … Attended Reagan High School where helped powered the offense to one of the best in the conference.

Jamari Smith, RB, 5-10, 210, Jacksonville, Fla., University of South Carolina
Running back who prepped at Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Fla, graduating in 2013... team went 12-3 in his senior season under head coach Josh Corey... tallied 2,178 yards on the ground with 24 touchdowns earning first-team Class 8A all-state honors as a junior... did not have a fumble in 295 carries as a junior while garnering Florida Times-Union Offensive Player of the Year accolades…Played at South Carolina as a true freshman before redshirting the next year after sustaining a season-ending injury …

Dacquari Wilson, OL, 6-3, 285, Greensboro, N.C., Dudley
He was a 2016 Shrine Bowl selection … Named AP first-team All-State and first-team All-Area … Helped Dudley win the 2013 and 2016 state championship.
