The Aggies completed another successful recruiting class on Wednesday with the signing of 17 players. It was head coach Rod Broadway’s fourth complete recruiting class. Broadway’s recruiting classes have already produced 13 current starters and five All-MEAC performers. Here is a look at the contributions thus far.

Darren Bullock
5-11, 188, Wide Receiver
Durham, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2012

  • Has played from day one for the Aggies at wide receiver
  • Reliable receiver who catches a pass nearly every game
  • Has played in 34 games with 16 starts
  • Has 68 catches for 673 yards and three touchdowns

Marquell Cartwright
5-9, 190, Running Back
High Point, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2014

  • Had a big impact in the Aggies backfield despite playing behind the MEAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year in Tarik Cohen
  • Played in 11 games with one start  
  • Rushed for 414 yards and seven touchdowns on 109 carries

Tarik Cohen    
5-6, 172, Running Back
Bunn, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • He has turned out to be a big-time signee
  • MEAC Rookie of the Year in 2013 and MEAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2014
  • He could burst through several Aggie records before his career is over
  • Has played in 22 games with 16 starts
  • Has 2,488 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns  

Wes Cole       
6-6, 306, Right Tackle
Norwood, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Played as a true freshman for the Aggies at right tackle
  • Played in and started all 12 games in 2014
  • Big and athletic lineman who can accomplish multiple things at the line of scrimmage

Jamaal Darden       
5-10, 185, Safety
Raeford, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2014

  • Played as a true freshman for A&T in 2014  
  • Played in 11 games without a start  
  • He was a key contributor on special teams with eight tackles that occurred on special teams

Khris Gardin   
5-8, 160, Wide Receiver/Punt returner
Morganton, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2014

  • Gardin earned significant playing time as a punt returner during his freshman season
  • An injury kept him out for two games but he still had an impact in 2014
  • Averaged 8.5 yards per punt return in 28 attempts, which led the MEAC

Xavier Griffin
6-1, 197, Wide Receiver
New Castle, Del., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Big-play receiver who can get down the field in a hurry  
  • Made five receptions for 117 yards during his first season and followed that up with 13 receptions for 225 yards and two touchdowns
  • Has played in 19 games with five starts

Malik Hampton-Prioleau        
6-4, 265, Defensive End 
Bossier City, La., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • He is a part of the defensive line rotation at A&T  
  • Adds considerable depth at the defensive end position along with Kenneth Melton and Angelo Keyes
  • Has played in 20 games with five starts…Made 20 tackles in 2014

Angelo Keyes  
6-1, 263, Defensive End
Kinston, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2012

  • Played his first season with A&T after an injury sidelined him in 2013
  • Made two big interceptions in 2014, one at Elon and the other at Delaware State where he scored on a pick-6
  • Played in 12 games with nine starts in 2014
  • Made 29 tackles, seven tackles for loss and seven passes defended

Denzel Keyes   
6-4, 210, Wide Receiver
Kinston, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Keyes has benefited two programs at North Carolina A&T with his contributions to the men’s basketball team
  • Another Broadway recruit who played as a true freshman
  • Had a breakout sophomore season where he caught six touchdown passes…Has 30 career catches for 437 yards

Zerius Lockhart
5-10, 175, Safety    
Auburn, Ala., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Redshirted his first season at A&T but became a starter at free safety in 2014
  • Made 59 tackles and had five pass defenses in 2014
  • He still has three years of eligibility remaining

Anthony McMinn II
6-1, 228, Fullback
Hendersonville, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2012

  • Valuable blocker and pass catcher for the Aggies at fullback
  • Has made 10 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown
  • Has played in 21 games with five starts

Tony McRae     
5-11, 188, Cornerback
Laurinburg, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2012

  • He is definitely been worth the signing
  • Dynamic corner and return man
  • He is an All-MEAC corner and return specialist
  • He is also an All-American corner
  • Has played in 33 games with 15 starts

Kenneth Melton
6-2, 226, Defensive End
Elizabeth City, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Showed a lot of promise during his redshirt freshman season
  • Played in 12 games with one start in 2014  
  • Made 23 tackles, including five against Alabama A&M on opening week in Orlando

Brandon Parker
6-7, 280, Left Tackle
Kannapolis, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Started 12 games at left tackle in 2014 as a redshirt freshman
  • Athletic tackle with power and speed to get to would be tacklers on the edges
  • Has good and grades as an excellent pass protector

Joshua Patrick
6-0, 225, Middle Linebacker
Dekalb, Ga., Recruiting Class: 2014

  • Shared playing time as a freshman with Denzel Jones at middle linebacker
  • Made 21 tackles on the season  
  • Played in 12 games without a start

Kwashaun Quick
6-0, 188, Quarterback
Laurinburg, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2012

  • Paid immediate dividends when he started the first game of the 2012 season as a freshman
  • Also led A&T to an upset win over Appalachian State in 2013
  • Became the Aggies full-time starter at quarterback in 2014
  • In 2014: rushed for 610 yards and six touchdowns…Threw for 1,418 yards and 13 touchdowns

Marquis Ragland
6-3, 265  
Fayetteville, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2012

  • Put up some pretty impressive numbers in 2014
  • Named second-team All-MEAC in 2014
  • Had 69 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and three blocked kicks in 2014
  • Has played in 23 games with 14 starts

D’Anthony Ross
6-2, 257, Defensive Tackle
Atlanta, Ga., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Excellent defensive tackle with a good motor  
  • He will often be included in the defensive line/nose guard rotation
  • In two seasons, he has registered 14 tackles and two sacks…He has played in 23 games

Landis Shoffner
6-0, 172, Rover/Strong Safety/Outside Linebacker
Greensboro, N.C., Recruiting Class: 2012

  • He is a two-year starter and played as a true freshman      
  • Local product who has done well at A&T
  • Has played in 36 games with 21 starts
  • Led the Aggies in tackles with 86 in 2014
  • Has 127 career tackles in three seasons

Lorenz Suttles
6-2, 187, Outside Linebacker     
Dallas, Ga., Recruiting Class: 2013

  • Became a starter in 2014 for the Aggies  
  • He is a strong pass rusher off the edge
  • Has played in 16 games with 11 starts
  • Recorded 43 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2014
