Parker Earns Another Weekly Honor
GREENSBORO (November 7, 2017) – North Carolina A&T All-American left tackle Brandon Parker earned yet another weekly honor from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference this week. Parker earned his 11th career offensive lineman of the week honor from the conference after the Aggies rolled over Norfolk State 35-7 at William “Dick” Price Stadium last Saturday.
Parker helped the Aggies post 497 yards of offense in the win. It marked the seventh time this season the Aggies have earned more than 400 yards of offense. Parker played 73 snaps on Saturday and did not allow a sack, did not allow a quarterback hurry and did not commit a penalty. He recorded six knockdowns, had 61 positive plays where he executed his assignment and only four negative plays where he failed to.
“Brandon came here and developed himself into an excellent football player,” said N.C. A&T coach Rod Broadway. He still has a lot of football left. He's been a great football player on the field and a great person off it. He's somebody very few people wanted. But that’s okay, because we have four or five (NFL) scouts here every week. Brandon is an NFL guy, and he has put in the work to deserve that.”
On the season, Parker has been credited for 39 knockdowns and has an average grade of 84 percent. In 555 snaps played in 2017, 467 of those plays have been graded positively.
Parker’s performance helped the Aggies remain in the top-10 nationally in both NCAA FCS/Division I-AA polls. The NCAA FCS Coaches poll has the Aggies at No. 7, same as last week. The FCS STATS Media poll has N.C. A&T at No. 9, also the same ranking as last week. The BoxToRow Black College Football poll has the Aggies No. 1 again in its respective coaches and media polls.
