Tarik Cohen making the NFL Pro Bowl is the No. 7 story in Aggie Athletics

EAST GREENSBORO (December 29, 2018) –The financial contributions to North Carolina A&T Athletics (see the No. 8 story in 2018) has been sizeable in 2018. But not every contribution to North Carolina A&T Athletics can be measured.

What Tarik Cohen has meant to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University since he stepped on campus in 2013 has been immeasurable. The main reason you cannot quantify all he means to AggieLand is because two years after leaving the university for the NFL’s Chicago Bears, the former N.C. A&T running back, continues to be an outstanding talent, an excellent cheerleader and representative for the university and he keeps N.C. A&T in the spotlight.

He did it again in December when he was voted to the NFC Pro Bowl team to be played Jan. 27, 2019 in Orlando, Fla. Any time Cohen makes strides in his career, whether it is on the field or in the community, it is a proud moment for Aggies everywhere and it makes news in Aggie World. Therefore, Cohen making the Pro Bowl is the No. 7 story in Aggie Athletics in 2018.

Cohen made the Pro Bowl as a return specialist. Cohen, who helped the Bears win the NFC North in 2018, is averaging 13.3 yards per punt return this season. On offense, he has 717 yards receiving and five touchdowns. In addition, Cohen was the centerpiece of an ESPN video played at the College Football Awards Show in December honoring HBCUs. Cohen discussed being overlooked by numerous schools before being accepted by an HBCU named N.C. A&T.

Cohen is the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s all-time leading rusher (5,619), and he captured numerous awards and honors while at N.C. A&T.
