NORFOLK, Va. (May 2, 2018) – North Carolina A&T sprinter Trevor Stewart (FR, Lorton, Va.) has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men’s co-track performer of the week, announced on Wednesday ahead of this weekend's MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at N.C. A&T's Irwin Belk Track.

Stewart set a new school record in the 400 meters at Saturday’s LSU Invite with a winning time of 45.82. He is ranked first in the MEAC and 13th in the nation thanks to his performance.

He is the third Aggie men’s athlete to receive a weekly award joining Michael Dickson (4/11) and Jaylan Mitchell (4/18). Stewart became the fourth Aggie to post a school record this season joining Kayla White who holds both the women’s 100m (11.21) and 100-meter hurdles (12.92) school records, Kristoni Barnes (women's 800m, 2:09.27) and Derrick Wheeler (men's hammer, 171-feet, 3-inches) as Aggies who have broken school records during the outdoor season.

This weekend, N.C. A&T looks to be first MEAC school to repeat as men's and women's indoor champions and men's and women's outdoor champions. The Aggies host the 2018 MEAC Outdoor Championships for the 13th time at N.C. A&T’s Irwin Belk Track beginning on Thursday (May 3) and concluding on Saturday (May 5).
