Aggie Women Have Their Winning Streak Snapped

GREENSBORO (February 26, 2017) – The North Carolina A&T women’s tennis team had their two-game match winning streak snapped Sunday with a 4-0 loss to Georgia Southern.

The Aggies are now 2-7 on the season. Four singles matches were not concluded as Khalia Powell at No. 1; Nadia Hilton-Adams at No. 3; and Kanishka Chawla at No. 5 did not finish their matches. The Aggies did not field anyone at No. 6 singles.

Out of the matches that were finished, Angelica Martinez lost to Arianne de Winter at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3. At No.4 singles, Emilia Bujan took down Klara Smolikova 6-2, 6-1. The Aggies also lost the doubles point as Powell and Hilton-Adams lost to Lindsay Truscott and Mariana Ranzahuer, 6-2. Martinez and Smolikova lost the other doubles match to Bujan and Ella Monsey.
