Greensboro (January 31, 2018) – Senior Nadia-Hilton Adams (5-foot-8, SR, Charlotte, NC) was rewarded for her many years of hard work for the North Carolina A&T women’s tennis program this week when she was named player of the week by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
“I’m very proud of Nadia’s efforts. She played very solid matches this past week,” said N.C. A&T men’s and women’s tennis coach William Crutchfield.
Hilton-Adams picked up her first singles win of the season on Jan. 22, by defeating Radford’s Zoe Fraser 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 5 singles spot. In the next matchup against Wofford, she teamed up with Khalia Powell to defeat Wofford’s Curran Carver and Brittney Wilbur 7-5 to help the Aggies take the doubles point. This was also the first time this season the Aggies captured the doubles point.
“I appreciate being recognized by the MEAC conference, and I am deeply humbled and honored,” said Hilton-Adams. “Any one of my teammates are deserving because we all leave everything on the court.”
This is the first weekly honor of the season for the women’s tennis team.
