YOUR NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES: North Carolina A&T travels to Charleston, S.C., to face Charleston Southern Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a midweek match. The Aggies went 0-3 last weekend with losses to Dartmouth (0-3), at UNC Asheville (1-3) and Eastern Kentucky (0-3). Junior outside hitter Courteney Pitt led the team with 34 kills and added 28 digs, while junior setter Edie Brewer led the team with 53 assists and added 28 digs and 21 kills and sophomore libero Andrea Laboy-Rivera led the team with 38 digs.
CHARLESTON SOUTHERN BUCCANEERS: The Bucs started the season 0-5 but won the last time out against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opponent S.C. State (3-0). CSU is led by Brooke Monssen with 3.37 kills per set, Emilee Karelse with 5.32 assists per set and Skylar Blackmon with 3.21 digs per set.
Seeing Double: Three Aggies recorded double-doubles against UNC Asheville with Pitt recording a match-high 17 kills and added 13 digs, while Brewer recorded 25 assists and 11 digs and freshman setter Addy Warfield recorded her first collegiate double-double with 12 assists and 10 digs.
Career Watch: Brewer recorded 53 assists to give her 1,326 career assists to move into sixth place in school history over Chelsea Fox, who recorded 1,294 assists from 2011-13. The West Chester, Ohio native is 40 assists away to move into fifth place, which is held by Michelle Spottswood who recorded 1,365 assists from 1995-96.
Up Next: The Aggies remain in South Carolina with a trip to Spartanburg for the Wofford Invitational this weekend. N.C. A&T faces two teams Friday with host Wofford at 10 a.m., and Gardner-Webb at 4 p.m., followed by Alabama A&M Saturday at 9 a.m.
