NORFOLK, Va. – For the second consecutive week, multiple North Carolina A&T volleyball players received Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) weekly awards.
Junior Edie Brewer (6-foot, setter, West Chester, Ohio), sophomore Andrea Laboy-Rivera (5-5, libero, Coamo, Puerto Rico) and Addy Warfield (5-9, setter, Winter Springs, Fla.) all received recognition from the conference Monday. Brewer was named player of the week, Laboy-Rivera earned defensive player of the week and Warfield picked up rookie of the week accolades.
“We are very proud of Edie, Addy and Andrea,” N.C. A&T coach Hal Clifton said. “They have been playing very well throughout the non-conference schedule. Edie has been solid as an all-around player and registered back-to-back triple-doubles. Addy has really contributed to our team making some great plays and getting our hitters the ball. She is still learning and will only get better. Andrea is playing good defense and that helps us in our transition game. She has been doing a good job in the back row.”
Brewer earned her second consecutive weekly award the fourth of her career. It is, however, her first player of the week honor. Laboy-Rivera earned her second-career weekly award while Warfield has her first.
