YOUR NORTH CAROLINA A&T AGGIES: North Carolina A&T plays their final road match of the regular season with a trip to Orangeburg, S.C., to face the S.C. State Bulldogs.

The Aggies have won their last 11 matches against the Bulldogs including a 3-0 (25-21, 12, 17) on Sept. 27 at Moore Gymnasium.

Last week, N.C. A&T defeated N.C. Central 3-1 (27-25,25-15,17-25,25-17) in the only match of the week.  The win clinched the MEAC Southern Division for the Aggies, their first regular-season title in 21 years.

Against NCCU, the Aggies sophomore right side hitter Fatimah Shabazz led the team with a match-high 16 kills while junior outside hitter Courteney Pit added 10 kills.  Junior setter Edie Brewer posted a double-double 25 assists and 10 digs to go along with six kills, four blocks and two service aces. Freshman setter Addy Warfield also had a double-double with 19 assists and 15 digs.

Sophomore libero Andrea Laboy-Rivera added 16 digs and senior middle hitter Makaylah Elliott added seven blocks, four digs and eight kills with a .375 hitting percentage.

Pitt ranks third in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) at 3.57 kills per set. Brewer is seventh in the league in assists per set (5.70), eighth in kills per set (2.77) and fifth in hitting percentage (.269). The versatile Brewer also averages 2.52 digs and 0.61 blocks per set.

Laboy-Rivera is second in the MEAC in digs per set (4.33) and Hall leads the MEAC with 1.13 blocks per set.

In conference play only, Pitt is averaging 3.36 kills set while Brewer is averaging 5.61 assists per set in conference play. She is also averaging 2.70 kills, 2.45 digs and 0.86 blocks per set against the league. She is sixth in the in conference matches only in blocks while ranking eighth in hitting percentage at .279.

 Laboy-Rivera is averaging 4.34 digs per set in conference matches only. Hall increases her numbers against conferences foes by averaging 1.30 blocks per set.

The South Carolina State Bulldogs: The Bulldogs are searching for their first win of the season as SCSU has played in 20 3-0 sweeps, two 3-1 losses to Florida A&M and a 3-1 loss to Bethune-Cookman.  The Bulldogs are led by Alexus Holt with 2.86 kills per set, Jenai King with 5.88 assists and T’Meyah Burgess with 2.80 digs per set.

MEAC Weekly Award: For the fifth consecutive week, an Aggie received a MEAC weekly award.  On Monday, Elliott was named the MEAC co-defensive specialist of the week as she averaged 1.75 blocks, 1.00 digs and 2.00 kills while hitting .375 against NCCU last Friday.

Elliott becomes the fifth Aggie to receive a MEAC weekly award this season as the Aggies are tied with Morgan State with 13 selections this season. Brewer leads the team with five, followed by Hall with three, Laboy-Rivera with two and Elliott, freshman middle hitter Mallory Porcher and Warfield with one apiece.

Career Watch: Pitt has recorded 926 career kills and ranks fourth in school history and needs 20 kills to move into third place.  Darlene Mitchell (2003-07) holds that spot with 945 kills.

Brewer has 1,771 career assists and needs 229 assists to become the fourth player to record at least 2,000 assists. Brewer also has recorded 98 career service aces and needs 13 service aces to move into sixth place, held by Judith Ball (2001-03), who recorded 110.

Brewer also ranks in the top-10 in block assists with 128 to rank ninth in school history and needs 13 block assists to move into eighth place, held by Alyssa Pitt (2015-17), who recorded 140.

Laboy-Rivera has 816 career digs to rank her sixth place in school history and needs 68 digs to move into the top-5.  Dunesha Taylor (1999-01) holds fifth place with 883 digs.
