AGGIES OVERVIEW:  North Carolina A&T is looking to recover after a tough loss to a team located only a few miles away from the Aggies campus. There were not many bright moments for the Aggies on Tuesday. The Aggies shot .326 from the floor and .235 from the field. They never led in the game and they sustained their most lopsided loss to UNC Greensboro in the series’ 20-game history. But the Aggies get to rebound in a place where they have been dominant over the past two seasons. The Aggies are 23-2 at home over the past two years. In fact, the Aggies have not lost a conference game at home in the past two years. Coming back home coupled with the fact that the Aggies started last season 0-5 before finishing 19-13 overall, says there is no reason to panic over Tuesday’s loss. Ronald Jackson led the Aggies Tuesday night at the Greensboro Coliseum with 17 points and six rebounds. He was the only Aggie to score in double figures.

CSU OVERVIEW:  The Buccaneers come into Corbett Sports Center coming off a 99-71 win over Columbia International. The Bucs are coming off an 18-16 season where they finished 9-7 in the Big South for a fifth-place finish. The Bucs are predicted to finish fifth again this season behind Big South favorite Radford. Gardner-Webb was the Big South’s representative in the NCAA tournament last season. CSU had one player make first-team preseason All-Big South in Phlandrous Fleming, a junior out of Athens, Ga. He averaged 12.5 points per game last season and had 13 points in the Bucs win on Tuesday against CIU. The Bucs are led by head coach Barclay Radebaugh who is in his 15th season. Radebaugh has led the Bucs to four winning seasons, two Big South regular-season titles and two NIT appearances.

News & Notes:

  • The Aggies have won 17 straight games at home against MEAC opponents, but they are 1-2 against their last three non-conference Division I opponents at Corbett.
  • Aggies point guard Kameron Langley broke the single-season school record for assists last season with 208. Over his first two seasons, Langley has dished out 387 assists to only 155 turnovers. He needs 196 assists to break the school’s career record.
  • Over the past two seasons, the Aggies Big South opponent has been Presbyterian. Presbyterian beat the Aggies two straight seasons. This season the Aggies will play two Big South opponents in Charleston Southern and Longwood. The last time the Aggies beat a Big South was an 85-78 win in 2013 over Longwood.
  • N.C. A&T head coach Jay Joyner has won 39 games over the previous two seasons. That is more regular-season wins than any other active coach in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) over the past two seasons.
