Aggies Sign Graduate Transfer
GREENSBORO (May 24, 2017) – North Carolina A&T women's basketball coach Tarrell Robinson announced the recent signing of graduate transfer Jade Scaife (5-11 Forward, Fort Washington, Md., Archbishop Spalding). Scaife spent the previous four seasons at nearby UNC Greensboro where she played in 97 games with 34 starts.
She made nine appearances during the 2016-17 season before sustaining a season-ending injury. In May, she earned a bachelor's degree in information systems and supply chain management from UNCG. She will use her one remaining year of eligibility with the Aggies during the 2017-18 season. Scaife has enrolled in the one-year Master's of Computer Science Cyber Security track program in the College of Engineering.
"We're excited about adding Jade to our Aggie family. She brings a certain type of toughness and grit that you don't find in a lot of athletes,” Robinson said. “She will give us consistent scoring and rebounding in the forward position. I feel as we expand her game she will pose as a dominant inside and outside threat as the season progresses.
Off the court we are gaining a very focused and disciplined individual who will excel academically as she pursues her master's here. We return a very young group, so we expect her to also be one of our leaders. Whether it be by actions or voice, her level of maturity will be invaluable this season."
Scaife's best season with the Spartans came during the 2015-16 season when she notched career highs in points per game (10.0), rebounds per game (7.4), steals per game (1.2), minutes per game (26.6), field goal percentage (39.9) and free throw shooting percentage (69.2). For her career, she averaged 7.3 points and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting 38.5 percent from the floor.
