EAST GREENSBORO (December 5, 2018) –The North Carolina A&T women’s basketball seems to be in a better place. The Aggies got their first Division I win of the season when they went on the road to defeat Western Carolina 69-51 on Thursday, Nov. 29.
The Aggies then got some time away from competition to focus on exams. In the process of that, the Aggies saw freshman Charme Lilly named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference co-player of the week. Lilly posted 17 points on 6-for-7 shooting from the field and 5-for-5 from 3-point range in the Aggies win over the Catamounts.
Lilly did her damage despite coming off the bench. Lilly leads the Aggies in 3-pointers made (11) and 3-point percentage (.324). Lilly is averaging 7.7 points in seven games played this season. Lilly has scored in double figures twice this season. The first time she scored in double figures in her career she led the Aggies with 18 points in a 60-56 win over Winston-Salem State on Nov. 16.
N.C. A&T and Lilly return to action noon Monday, December 10 when they face Johnson C. Smith at Corbett Sports Center on Education Day. Follow N.C. A&T women’s basketball on Twitter and Instagram (@LadyAggieWBB).
