North Carolina A&T Aggies: North Carolina A&T women’s basketball (0-1) looks to bounce back after an 80-44 loss to No. 14 North Carolina State in the season opener with their home opener against Johnson & Wales.

The Aggies held NCSU to only 30 points in the first half Wednesday night and outrebounded the Wolfpack 35-30 throughout the game.  Last year, NCSU finished the year ranked 19th in the country with 42.53 rebounds per game.

Playing in her first game at North Carolina A&T, junior guard Deja Winters led the team with 17 points and nearly recorded a double-double with nine rebounds.

Senior center Alexus Lessears added seven points and a game-high 12 rebounds, while senior guard C’coriea Foy added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Johnson & Wales Wildcats: Johnson & Wales have combined to win by an average of 56.0 points, including a 131-30 win over South Carolina Faith A&M in the season opener. 

The Wildcats have six players that average over 10.0 points per game with Ineesha Hankerson leading the way at 16.0 points per game, followed by Ja’Yon Leak at 15.5 points.  Christine Eppler and Hankerson lead the way with 10.0 rebounds per game each.

Up Next: The Aggies return on the road with a trip to Athens, Ga., to face Georgia Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum.
