AGGIES OVERVIEW: N.C. A&T has just five games remaining in their regular season with home games against Howard and Maryland Eastern Shore before hitting the road for the final three games. The Aggies have won 11 of its last 12 games as it chases its second MEAC regular-season title in three seasons. In late January, the Aggies downed both MDES (57-45) and HU (76-68) on the road. Robinson said the road win over Howard was huge considering they played in front a tough crowd at Burr Gymnasium. The Aggies are 16-13 at home against the Bison and 19-9 at home against the Hawks. C’Coriea Foy leads the Aggies in scoring (13.6), field goals made (118), 3-point field goals made (39), assists (3.4), steals (2.5) and in minutes played (27.9). Kala Green is second on the team in scoring (11.2) but leads in free throw percentage (.778). Alexus Lessears is the top rebounder (9.1) and shot blocker (1.1).

HOWARD OVERVIEW: Howard is 3-2 in conference road games this season. After falling to the Aggies at home on Jan. 22, the Bison are 3-3. Over their last 10, they are 6-4. Nationally, HU is fourth in free throw attempts (577), 11th in blocked shots per game (6.1),32nd in rebounds per game (42.04), 43rd in free throws made (354), 54th in field goal percentage defense (37.3). They lead the MEAC in free throw attempts, free throws made and rebounds. Sarah Edmond is 10th in conference scoring (13.0), sixth in assists (3.3) and seventh in minutes played (34.7).  Jayla Myles is third in the MEAC in blocked shots (2.3) and Imani Bryant (1.6) is fifth. Ayanna Williams is 24th in scoring (10.0), tied for eighth in steals (2.0) and 10th in assists (3.1).

MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE OVERVIEW: MDES picked up their second road victory of the season their last time out as they defeated Howard at Burr Gymnasium, 83-79. Four Hawks netted double-figure scoring paced by Ciani Byrom’s 24 points on 4-for-7 shooting from 3-point range. Jordyn Smith tallied a double-double finishing with 15 points and 14 rebounds. The Hawks are 5-5 in their last 10 games. In the national top-50, the Hawks are eighth in offensive rebounds per game (17), 31st in turnovers forced (20.00), 40th in rebounds per game (41.50) and 47th in steals per game (10.1). Bairesha Gill-Miles is 18th in the conference in scoring (10.8), seventh in rebounding (7.7), defensive rebounds (4.9) and field goal percentage (.460).

N.C. A&T ends the regular season with three road games starting with Florida A&M on February 24 (2 p.m.). That will be followed with a contest at the current top team in the conference in Bethune-Cookman on February 26 (5:30 p.m.). Their regular-season finale is on March 1 at NC Central at 5:30 p.m.

Nationally, the Aggies are ranked in the top-50 in five categories; third in turnovers forced (23.39), fifth in offensive rebounds per game (17), 10th in rebounds per game (43.87), 21st in turnover margin (5.52) and 32nd in field goal percentage defense (36.7). N.C. A&T leads the MEAC in six categories; scoring offense (66.7), turnovers forced, rebounds, and offensive rebounds per game.

Alexus Lessears ranks 26th nationally and second in the MEAC in offensive rebounds per game (4.0). She is 65th nationally in rebounds per game (9.1) while C’Coriea Foy is 56th in the nation in steals per game (2.52).

The Aggies won 11 of 12 games and seven by double figures. Through 11 conference games, the Aggies are 9-0 when having more assists and the opponent has more turnovers. They are 8-0 when the bench has more points, leading at halftime and leading with five minutes to go in the game.

In six seasons, head coach Tarrell Robinson holds a 6-3 record against Howard and is 3-4 versus Maryland Eastern Shore.
