EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T released the 2019-20 women’s basketball schedule that features six teams that made the postseason in 2019.

“I’m happy with how our schedule came together this year,” N.C. A&T coach Tarrell Robinson said.  “While it will provide us with some strong challenges, it only prepares us for what’s to come when we enter conference play.  I’m excited to see how this experienced group comes together this season.”

The Aggies will get off to a challenging start with a 7 p.m., opener in Raleigh on Wednesday, Nov. 6 as they face North Carolina State. The Wolfpack made the NCAA tournament last season and started the year 21-0. The home opener for the Aggies is 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9 against Johnson & Wales.

N.C. A&T faces the SEC’s Georgia Bulldogs on the road on Nov. 13 before returning home to face East Tennessee State on 5:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18.

N.C. A&T travels to Chicago, Ill., the weekend before Thanksgiving for the DePaul Maggie Dixon Classic, Nov. 22-23. The Aggies stay on the road with a trip to Morehead, Ky., to face 2019 WNIT participant Morehead State Tuesday, Nov. 26.  A two-game homestand follows with Saint Augustine’s on Monday, Dec. 2 and crosstown rival UNC Greensboro Thursday.

Their remaining games in 2019 will be at Akron (Dec. 16), at Clemson (Dec. 20) and at VCU (Dec. 30).  Clemson made the NCAA tournament last season and VCU was in the WNIT.

The New Year starts with Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play where the Aggies were 16-0 last season and claimed the MEAC regular-season championship. The 2019-20 conference season opens with N.C. A&T hosting Florida A&M 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4 at Corbett Sports Center. Four straight road games in the north follow with games at Maryland Eastern Shore (Jan. 11), at Delaware State (Jan. 13), at Coppin State (Jan. 18) and at Morgan State (Jan. 20).

The Aggies return home for four straight home games starting with MEAC champion Bethune-Cookman 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25. The other three games are against Delaware State (5:30 p.m., Jan. 27), Norfolk State (2 p.m., Feb. 1) and S.C. State (5:30 p.m., Feb.3).

N.C. A&T travels to Florida to face B-CU on Saturday, Feb. 8 and FAMU Monday, Feb. 10. Three straight home games are next on the schedule with archrival N.C. Central coming to Greensboro on Feb. 15. The game with the Eagles is followed by Howard on Feb. 22 and MDES on Feb. 24.

The Aggies finish the regular season on the road with trips to Orangeburg, S.C., to face SCSU on Monday, March 2 and to Durham to face NCCU on Thursday, March 5. N.C. A&T, who is seeking its third straight MEAC regular-season title, is a combined 31-1 in the conference over the past two years.

The MEAC Tournament is held in Norfolk, Va., from March 9-14 in Scope Arena.

N.C. A&T finished 20-12 overall last season and received a bid to play in the WNIT tournament for the third time under Robinson. It was the program’s fifth overall postseason appearance in seven years with Robinson at the helm.
