EAST GREENSBORO -- Sophomore Ana Olaya (Bogota, Colombia) was rewarded for her performance at the second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) meet which was held at AMF Lanes in Greensboro. Olaya was named MEAC bowler of the week to mark the second time this season she has earned the accolade. She was awarded the honor in November after the first MEAC meet.

“Ana had one of the best weekends of her career here at A&T this past weekend,” said coach Kim Terrell-Kearney. “She was the glue that held our team together.”

Olaya, the 2018 MEAC Rookie of the Year, led the Aggies to a 7-2 record. Tuesday’s honor marks the fourth one of the season for the Aggies bowling program this season.

Olaya bowled a career-high 1,077 five-game series for a 215.4 average to take the top spot in the individual standings. She led the team to a 4-0 start on the first day. She started off last Saturday bowling a 222 against Delaware State. She then rolled her only under 200 game of the day with a 197. Her next three games were  238, 208 and 212.
