EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T men’s and women’s cross country teams are back in action Saturday for the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational in Hagan Stone Park.
The women’s 6k race starts at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s 8k race at 1:45 p.m.
The men’s team finished sixth at the Adidas Challenge last weekend, while sophomore Regan Kimtai led the Aggies with a top-5 performance. Kimati finished in fourth place with a 6k personal-best time of 17:54.2. Kimtai was the only non-Michigan runner to finish in the top-8.
Kimtai was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men’s cross country runner of the week.
Freshman Devon Williams was the next Aggie to cross the line with a time of 19:17.6 to finish 30th, while sophomore Morris Kimble finished 43rd in 19:32.8. Freshman Jordan Richardson finished 48th in 19:46.4.
The women did not compete in the Adidas Challenge. The Aggies finished eighth at the Elon Opener at the end of August. Junior Racheal Kosgei led the way with a 50th place finish with a time of 16:10.4. Senior G’Jasmyne Butler finished right behind her in 16:19.4. Sophomore Shalah Means finished in 56th with a time of 16:28.5.
The Aggies return to Cary, N.C., for the Robert Shumake HBCU Challenge a week later on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 9:30 a.m.
