EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T cross country sophomore Regan Kimtai (Eldoret, Kenya) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) co-runner of the week for men’s cross country. Kimtai finished fourth in the Vertcross Invitational last Friday with an 8k time of 25:18.0, five seconds off his personal best.
Kimtai's best time is 25:13.0 set at the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 28, which is the fourth-fastest time in the MEAC this season. His fourth-place finish helped the Aggies to finish sixth out of 15 teams.
The men’s cross country looks to defend its MEAC Championship Saturday in Smyrna, Del. The Aggies won the championship last season, the first one since 1983. The women’s 5k race starts at 11 a.m. and the men’s 8k race starts at noon.
