VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., September 4, 2006 -- North Carolina A&T State University senior Arlene Mitchell was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Mitchell (5-9, Sr., Henderson, N.C.) averaged 4.50 kills, and 1.0 digs while hitting .426 from the field last week to help the Lady Aggies to a 1-1 record last week. In a 3-0 shut-out win against Winston-Salem State, Mitchell hit a blistering .588 from the floor and recorded 10 kills and four service aces. This is the third time in her career that Mitchell has received Player of the Week accolades.
