Box Score vs. UNCW The Aggies lost a 3-2 (27-30, 25-30, 30-23, 30-19, 8-15) decision to UNC-Wilmington before losing to Presbyterian 3-0 (30-14, 21, 17) later in the day at the 2007 Western Carolina Volleyball Tournament. The Aggies continue play in the tournament on Saturday, taking on The Citadel and Western Carolina. “There is no quit in our team,’’ said head coach Lyndsay Schmiedel. “We just have to get the point where we can close teams out.” The Aggies found themselves in 21-21 tie in the second game after winning the first. Kills by Brenden Chatman, Kaycee Anderson and Avignon Williams gave the Aggies a 24-21 lead. An attacker by UNCW’s Rachel Caricto and a kill by Williams closed out a 5-0 N.C. A&T run. The Seahawks never got any closer than four the rest of the game and when Krystal Cooper slammed down a kill for game-point, the Aggies were one game away from claiming victory No. 1 of the season. But the Aggies compiled .000 hitting percentage over the last three games of the match to help the Seahawks rally. In fact, the Aggies had a -.083 hitting percentage in the fifth and deciding game versus the Seahawks’ .308 hitting percentage. Aundia Gray led the way for the Aggies, finishing with 15 kills. Williams added 12 kills and six blocks, Chatman had 11 digs, 38 assists and seven digs. The Aggies are 0-13 on the season. They will play their first home game Nov. 18 against UNC-Greensboro.
