Box Score vs. The Citadel
Box Score vs. Western Carolina

GREENSBORO, September 15, 2007 The Aggies closed out the Western Carolina Tournament not on the high note they wanted. The Aggies lost to The Citadel early in the day 3-0 (30-28, 24, 18), and ended the tournament with a loss to tournament-host Western Carolina 3-0 (30-21, 22, 25).

The Aggies are winless (0-15), but continued to get solid play from junior Aundia Gray. Gray earned all-tournament honors by averaging 3.0 kills and 0.86 blocks per game with a .221 hitting percentage for the tournament. Gray had 10 kills and one block against The Citadel. She followed that match with an 11-kill, three-block performance against the Catamounts.

In the first game against The Citadel, the Aggies trailed 25-22 until a Krystal Cooper kill moved them to within two. Two Bulldog attack errors helped the Aggies tie the game. Another error by the Bulldogs gave the Aggies the lead, but it was short lived. Stacey Malone committed a service error to tie the game again.

Brenden Chatman regained the lead for the Aggies with one of her seven kills in the match. A kill by The Citadel’s Rachel Sanders tied the game at 27 before Gray slammed down a kill to put the Aggies on the verge of winning the game. But two straight errors by the Aggies ended those hopes as the Bulldogs took the game.

Against Western Carolina, Krystal Cooper added 13 kills for the Aggies. After 15 straight games away from home, the Aggies will finally get to play their home opener. The Aggies will host UNC-Greensboro at 6 p.m., Tuesday at Corbett Sports Center.
