AGGIES ENDURE RARE LOSS TO WILDCATS

Box Score
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., October 12, 2007
The North Carolina A&T volleyball team is not accustomed to coming back from Florida without a win. But this season the Aggies will.

Senior Krystal Cooper had 17 kills and 19 digs for her fourth double-double of the season, but the Aggies lost to Bethune-Cookman 3-1 (31-29, 28-30, 31-29, 30-22) on Friday at Bethune-Cookman’s Moore Gym to fall to 1-2 in the MEAC. It was the first time in seven seasons the Aggies have lost to Bethune-Cookman.

Cooper’s 19 digs moved her closer to 1,000 digs for her career. Cooper needs just 31 to reach the milestone. She has an outside shot of also earning 1,000 kills for her career. She is 133 kills short with 10 matches to play in the regular season.

Fellow senior Brenden Chatman also moved closer to some milestones. She had 43 assists to move closer to the all-time assists record at N.C. A&T. She is just 83 assists of tying Michelle Spottswood for the all-time record.

Kaycee Anderson added nine kills and 15 digs, while Avignon Williams, who leads the conference in blocks, had 10 on Friday. Aundia Gray had 13 kills and seven blocks.

The Aggies return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Winston-Salem to face the Rams at 7 p.m.
