BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – North Carolina A&T’s volleyball team debuted in the College Bookstore Invitational at the University of Indiana with a 3-0 loss to Alabama A&M (25-10, 25-14, 25-17). Senior Tiffany Mellette led the Aggies with six kills.

Junior Amber Inman, who was a defensive specialist last season, had to fill in at the setter position on Friday. Inman finished with 11 assists.

The Aggies started slow in every set against Alabama A&M. In the third set, the Aggies trailed 6-0, but showed some resolve. A Bridget McCaskill kill cut the Bulldogs lead to 9-6. N.C. A&T could not sustain the momentum, however.

After a Mellette kill pulled the Aggies to within five at 15-10, the Aggies were not able to slice the lead under five the rest of the set. The Aggies will continue play in the Bookstore Invitational Saturday when they take on Western Michigan and Indiana.
