N.C. A&T VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN FIVE SETS TO BETHUNE-COOKMAN

Loss Ends Five Match Winning Streak

GREENSBORO, N.C. – October 23, 2004 -  Irie Cormier had 14 kills – including the final two of the match – to go with 13 digs and propel visiting Bethune-Cookman to a 3-2 (30-28, 26-30, 30-16, 30-28, 16-14) victory over N.C. A&T in volleyball action at Corbett Sports Center.

The Lady Wildcats (10-7, 7-3 MEAC) got 16 kills and 15 digs from Melissa Sanders, while setter Megan Myers dished out 40 assists. Jessica Martin led the visitors with a game high 17 digs.

N.C. A&T (9-14, 7-3 MEAC) had three players turn in double-doubles, but suffered 21 service errors in the match. Arlene Mitchell posted team highs of 26 kills and 14 digs, while teammate Krystal Cooper notched 16 kills, 11 digs, and three service aces. Setter Brendan Chatman had 50 assists.

The Lady Aggies will host Elon University on Wednesday, October 27 in the Corbett Sports Center. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
