N.C. STATE SWEEPS LADY AGGIES

Raleigh, N.C. - September. 20, 2004 -The NC State volleyball team improved to 10-3 on the season Monday night with a dominating win over N.C. A&T at Reynolds Coliseum. Led by Adeola Kosoko, who finished with a team-high 10 kills, the Wolfpack defeated the Aggies by the scores of 30-26, 30-14 and 30-20. The loss drops A&T to 3-8 overall.

N.C. State jumped out to an early lead in game one, only to have the Aggies battle back toward the end. But it wasn't enough, as the Pack took the first contest, 30-26. The strongest effort for NC State came in the second game when it went on to a 12-1 run to close out the game behind the efforts of Kosoko with four kills and one block assist, as well as Emily Bertrand, who added three kills and chipped in one block assist. During the second contest, the Wolfpack enjoyed a .286 team attack percentage while the Aggies had a dismal -.094 attack percentage. Also, NC State took a 12-7 advantage in total blocks.

Two players finished with double-digits in digs for NC State, as Bertrand and Andrea Bentley tallied 13 and 11 digs respectively. Junior middle blocker Stefani Eddins, who transferred from North Carolina A&T, also stepped up for the Wolfpack, finishing with eight kills off a .500 attack percentage and three total blocks.

As for the Aggies, they finished the match with a team hitting percentage of -.042, while totaling 15 service errors on the night. Sophomore outside hitter Arlene Mitchell led A&T with 10 kills to go with seven digs.
