Greensboro, N.C., - September 28, 2004 - Rose Butler led three Bulldogs in double figures with 14 kills, while setter Amanda Wiles finished two digs shy of a triple double as UNC Asheville defeated N.C. A&T, 3-1 (30-20, 30-26, 21-30, 30-24) in volleyball action at the Corbett Sports Center. Wiles dished 40 assists and put down 10 kills to go with eight digs on the evening. Teammate Enif Unlu notched a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Talia Ogle had a team high 13 eight digs with eight kills. Wiles hit at a .474 percentage on the night, while Butler hit .440, to key UNC Asheville, which hit .301 as a team over the four games. Arlene Mitchell led the Lady Aggie attack with 19 kills, while teammate Krystal Cooper added 15. Lauren Walker provided much of the defense with 17 of the team's 52 digs. Brendan Chatman finished with 38 assists to go with seven digs. The Lady Aggies played solid defense up front with nine team blocks, but could not overcome 23 attacking errors and 18 service errors in falling to their eighth straight defeat. N.C. A&T will get several days off in order to prepare for the MEAC portion of the schedule, which continues with a rematch with Norfolk State on Oct. 12 in Norfolk, Va. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
