THE MALONE SKINNY: Came into last season in a heated competition for playing time at the libero position…By season’s end, had become the Aggies top defensive player from the libero position…Comes into this season as the favorite to play the libero position again, but should receive tough competition from Amber Inman…Malone has a reputation of being one of the hardest workers on the team…She is known for being relentless in the weight room and during her off-season conditioning…Her tenacity shows on the court…She is not afraid to dive on the floor to dig out attacks… Has recorded 545 career digs and has 27 serves aces in a 159 games played.
2007: She played in more games than any other Aggie with 116…Played in all 34 matches with one start…Ranked third in the conference in digs…Recorded 513 digs on the season for the third highest total in school history…Averaged 4.43 digs per game which ranked her for the second highest single-season average in school history…Recorded 22 services aces and had 43 assists…Recorded 30 or more digs twice and recorded 20 or more digs seven times…Recorded a career-high 35 digs and had three service aces in a 3-1 loss at Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 12…She finished the match three digs shy of breaking the single-match record…Returned a month later and recorded 33 digs against Bethune-Cookman in a 3-1 win…Had 23 digs and three serves aces in a 3-1 win over Norfolk State on Oct. 19.
2006: Played mostly as a reserve last season…Played in 43 games over 17 matches with no starts…Averaged 0.74 digs per game…Made her first career appearance on Aug. 29 against Winston-Salem State…Played in three games and recorded one dig in a 3-0 win over the Rams…Recorded a season-best 12 digs in a 3-1 win over Savannah State on Sept. 30…Played in only one game against High Point on Nov. 7, but recorded six digs in a 3-0 loss to the Panthers.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played all three years for Hubert Butler at East St. Louis…She was named team captain as a junior and senior…An All-State Honorable Mention as a senior…Selected as Who’s Who Among High School Students…Member of the National Honor Society.
