THE MELLETTE SKINNY: An athletic outside hitter who should step into a crucial starting role for the 2008 season…Missed last season which was costly for the Aggies because of her tremendous athleticism…Should be a starter as an outside hitter and was voted a team captain by her teammates…She has 94 career kills and 117 career digs.
2007: Redshirt season
2006: Played in 97 games over 30 matches with 11 starts…Finished the season with 84 kills and .080 hitting percentage…Also recorded 94 digs and scored 28 times on service aces…She had one match in which she recorded double-figure kills…Had a career-high 10 kills and added five assists in a 3-1 win over Winston-Salem State on Oct. 24…Recorded nine kills, five block assists and three digs in a 3-0 win over Coppin State on Oct. 13…Mellette had seven kills in 11 total attacks for a .545 hitting percentage on Oct. 31 against UNC Greensboro…She also matched a career-high nine digs in the match as the Aggies lost 3-2 to the Spartans…Had a career-high five service aces against St. Francis on Sept. 8.
2005: Played in 32 games in 18 matches…Finished with 10 kills and 23 digs…Also added five set assists and four services aces…three block assists…Had one kill, one assist, and one dig in a 3-1 road victory over Hampton on Sept. 6…Played in all three games with four kills, one assist, and two digs in a 3-0 victory at Norfolk State on Sept. 22…Had three kills in a 3-0 victory over Savannah State on Nov. 11…Had one kill and one block assist in a 3-0 victory against Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 18.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played four varsity volleyball seasons under Cindy Kelly…Was named Tri-Seven 4A Player of the Year…Earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors as a senior…Was named the team’s Most Valuable Player…Thanks to her work in the classroom, earned academic all-conference honors…Also earned a spot on the national honor roll.
PERSONAL: Full name is Tiffany Dawn Mellette...She is the daughter of Charles and Patti Mellette...She has one sibling, Kristen...Her favorite TV show is the Golden Girls...She wants to coach volleyball after graduation.
