Coach Bibbs on the
Aggie reserves
“With
the kind of up-tempo game Morgan likes to play we really needed those
ladies to step up and they did an excellent job. We had 10 days off so I
knew we would get winded early playing that style of basketball. To have
Nancy give us
the production she did and for Brittanie Taylor-James to knock down free
throws like she did was huge for us.”
Coach Bibbs on the
Aggies slow start
“I
think we were nervous early. A lot of our layups were short, and
normally those are shots we hit. But not being at home in almost a
month, I think we had a hard time getting into a rhythm because of
nerves.”
Coach Bibbs on the
Aggies impressive win over a good
Morgan State team
“We
take solace in the fact that we played well against a very good Morgan
team tonight. We’re going to see a totally different style on Monday.
Our young ladies will have to adjust quickly. Coppin State is the
standard in this conference, so we can’t dwell on this win too much.”
Coach Bibbs on the
Aggies return to
Irvin-Corbett Court
“It
was our first time at home this year, so I think the ladies really
wanted to play well and that can lead to nerves.”
Coach Bibbs on the
Aggies turnovers
“When
you’re playing that plays with an up-and-down pace, you have to be
careful because things can get sloppy. We had a lot of turnovers playing
that kind of tempo today, but once we mature as a team we can play that
style and still be discipline enough not to turn it over. But the thing
is, when you get winded and tired you make mistakes. We had 10 days off
between games. I think once we get back into game shape, you’re not
going to see us make mistakes because we’re fatigued.”
