· North Carolina A&T’s win over Winston-Salem State was its first in 10 years. But it was the Aggies 14th straight victory over their arch-rival as they continued their dominance of the Rams even after the long layoff. The Aggies have won those games by an average margin 15.9 points. · The Aggies are off to a 12-5 start this season. It is their best start since the 1990-91 season when the Aggies started the season 13-4 on their way to a 22-8 finish. Twenty-two wins in a season is the school record. · North Carolina A&T women’s basketball coach Patricia Cage-Bibbs won 244 games at Grambling. She won 127 games at Hampton. On Saturday she won her 38th game as the Aggies head coach. What made it significant was that it marked the first time Bibbs has been above the .500 mark in terms of her career record at N.C. A&T. She is 38-37 as the Aggies head coach after losing her first 13 games as the leader of the program. · The Aggies grabbed 30 offensive rebounds on Saturday. It was a season-high total for the season, eclipsing their 22-offensive rebound performance against S.C. Upstate. The Aggies outscored the Rams 23-3 in second-chance points on Saturday. · Among the career highs on Saturday was Ta’Wuana Cook’s 27 points and eight steals. Cook also tied a career high in field goals made with nine. Nancy Rembert also notched a career-high in rebounds with seven. · Lamona Smalley’s work on the boards lately has been tremendous. Smalley has done a lot of her damage on the boards on the offensive end. Smalley grabbed six offensive boards Saturday and is averaging 4.2 offensive boards over her last five games. · The Aggies are at their best when they’re using their defense to create offensive opportunities. The Aggies are 12-0 when they score more points off turnovers than their opponent. They are 10-0 when they have more fastbreak points than their opponents. |
