POSTGAME QUOTES VS. LRC

Coach Bibbs on the 2007-2008 team
”You have athletes who weren’t here last year. And right now we’re just trying to get them acclimated to our system. We’re trying to get them used to different combinations. I think we came a little nervous tonight. We got a little stagnated initially. Some of the ladies are still trying to learn our offense. I think we’ve got a lot of work to do offensively. We played better tonight than we did at the scrimmage the other night.”

Coach Bibbs on the Aggies defense
“We are working really hard to get our defense down. We have people who can score, but a lot of times when you have people who can score they don’t play defense. But I saw some good things tonight. But then there were some things we’re really going to have to do better. The bottom line is if you play defense and you out-rebound your opponents you’re going to win a championship.”

Coach Bibbs on the newcomers
”Of course I love Amber Bland. She is just a great player. But I thought Brittane Neely played well for us. She got in there and rebounded. She blocked a few shots, which is going to be big for us. I thought Jaleesa Sams played pretty well tonight. With the type of aggressiveness she plays with she is going to get in some foul trouble. But we don’t want her to tone it down. We just want her to be more discipline. Nancy got in and gave some quality minutes. Once Wudi calmed down she made some good passes. I just wish Taryn could have played tonight. I would have loved to have seen her before we play Friday.”

Coach Bibbs on the play of Brittanie Taylor-James
“We know Brittanie Taylor-James can score, but tonight she played better defense. Brittanie came in here in great condition this year, so I think you’re going to see an even better player.”

Coach Bibbs on her reserves
”Can you believe a kid doesn’t have to play 30 or 35 minutes for us to win? If you can bring people off the bench and not lose a lot and maybe nothing sometimes, it’s huge. You know you can take a young lady out for a breather and still be competitive. This is an up-and-down game. If we can just stay healthy, we’ll be just fine.”
