15 points and Crystal Murdaugh and Jaleesa Sams finished with 10
points apiece, but Marist got 30 points from Rachele Fitz to defeat
the Aggies 80-64 in the first round of the WNIT played at the
Marist's McCann Center. |

defending MEAC Champion North Carolina A&T women's basketball team
begins the defense of its title Friday night at Marist in the
preseason WNIT. First-team All-MEAC performers Amber Bland and
Brittanie Taylor-James will not be around for the defense. So do the
Aggies have enough firepower to defend?

AGGIE WOMEN EARN PRESEASON INVITE
Aggies return five seniors from 2009 MEAC Championship team
GREENSBORO, June
30, 2009 -- The
16-team field for the 2009 Preseason Women's National Invitational
Tournament was announced on Tuesday, and North Carolina A&T was among
the teams selected. The Aggies will open the tournament in Poughkeepsie,
N.Y. on Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m., when they face Marist.
