Comes to North
Carolina A&T with a reputation of being a winner… Alford’s high school team
– Thomasville – won four-straight state titles...Comes to North Carolina A&T
after playing one season with UNC-Asheville…Sat out last season to comply
with NCAA rules on Division I transfers… Brings a strong work ethic and
desire to win to the floor...is a strong defensive player who has a good
understanding of the game…Will likely share the point guard duties with
Ta’Wuana Cook...Goes by the nickname of “Wudi.”
High School Career
Led Thomasville
High to four-straight State Championships averaging 17.2 points, 6.8
assists, and 4.2 steals per game...Was a first-team All-State performer as a
senior Made all-conference all four years under Thomasville coach Eric
Rader…Was the MVP of the state championship game in 2004 and 2005…Earned
All-Area from 2002-2005 and was a participant in the North Carolina-South
Carolina All-Star Game…Was also an all-conference performer in volleyball…
Graduated second in her class...Was a member of the National Honors Society,
a Presidential Scholar, an Air Force Scholar, Teaching Fellows Scholar and a
North Carolina Scholar…Recorded a 4.18 GPA, while being named homecoming
queen and prom queen…Thomasville, she was named WXII’s Flow Athlete of the
Week, a weekly feature on WXII 12 that features student-athletes for their
academics and athletics.
