Cedric Walthaw
enters his third season as North Carolina A&T’s strength and
conditioning coordinator. Walthaw will be responsible for designing
and teaching strength and conditioning methods to N.C. A&T’s
15-sport varsity program during preseason, in-season and off-season
periods.
His primary
responsibility will be football. Walthaw came to N.C. A&T after
spending the majority of his career at
Middle Tennessee
State.
Walthaw spent 10 years at Middle Tennessee State in different
capacities. Before coming to N.C. A&T, he spent eight years as
Middle Tennessee State’s assistant strength and conditioning coach.
His main
responsibility was assisting football players in training and being
the main strength and conditioning coach for men’s basketball.
Starting in June of 2006, he took over the head strength and
conditioning responsibilities for the MTSU football program for a
year. He started his MTSU career as a graduate assistant in 1997.
He worked in that
role for two seasons as he supervised and monitored the strength and
conditioning training for men’s basketball, women’s soccer and men’s
tennis. Walthaw is a member of the National Strength and
Conditioning Association, the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning
Coaches Association, USAW and the National Association of Speed &
Explosion. Walthaw received his Bachelor of Science degree in sports
administration in 2005. He has his Masters of Science degree from
Middle Tennessee.
