Comes into
the 2012-13 season after a solid freshman season...Produced several season bests
and had five first-place finishes as a freshman.
2011-12 Season: Competed in eight meets... Swam mostly
freestyle and breaststroke events in her freshman season...Her 33.55 finish in
the 50-yard breaststroke on Jan. 20 was 12th in the Top 16 times in
the CSSA in that event...Took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.25)
on Oct. 21, in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:47.20) on Oct. 29, in the 200-yard
medley relay (2:00.04) on Jan. 20, in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.55) on Jan.
20, and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.65) on Jan. 20...Tied for second place
in the 50-yard freestyle with a 26.05 time on Oct. 29 at VMI...Placed third in
the 50-yard freestyle (26.98) on Jan. 20, third in the 200-yard medley relay
(2:07.83) on Jan. 27 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.12) on Jan.
27...Posted a season-best time of 1:12.25 in the 100-yard breaststroke in the
season opener on Oct. 21...Her season-best time in the 200-yard breaststroke was
in the finals heat at the Highlander Invitational, in which she clocked in at
2:42.30 for 22nd place on Nov. 19.
High School: Competed at Fairmont Heights High
School...Was the 2010-11 Maryland state champion in the 100 breaststroke and was
also the 2010-11 regional champion in that event...Was the county champion in the
50 free in the 2010-11 season...Was named to the All-State team in 2011 as a
senior...Was also a member of the National Honor Society and was an honor roll student...Also
competed in cross country and outdoor track.
Personal: Full name is Danielle Jackson...She is
the daughter of Venetia Holman and William Jackson Jr...Has one sibling, William
Jackson III and was born on March 27,1993...Majors in sports science and fitness
management (Pre-PT) and plans to attend graduate
school and pursue a career in physical therapy...Her interests include playing
Wii games...Her favorite book is Sail by James Patterson...Says the best
part about A&T Athletics is it teaches her how to be responsible because of
all the things a student-athlete has to do.
