Enters her junior season looking to compete for time in the pool...Had a solid first season for A&T and continually dropped her times.

2011-12 Season:  Competed in eight meets...Her 1:36.64 time in the 100-yard IM on Jan. 20 was 12^th in the Top 16 times in the CCSA for the event...Simmons helped the Aggies take first place in the 200-yard medley relay with a 2:45.96 time on Oct. 29 against VMI and Howard...Also helped the Aggies  place third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 2:08.42 time on Jan. 27 at Campbell...Placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:34.64 time on Oct. 29...Took fifth place in the 100-yard butterfly (2:04.70) on Oct. 29 and placed fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (35.99) on Jan. 27...Recorded a season-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (1:34.51) and the 200-yard freestyle (2:58.81), and 100-yard freestyle (1:18.14) at the CCSA Championships, dropping 10 seconds off her time in the event.

High School: Attended Clover Hill High School and was on the distinguished honor roll for all four years of high school...Was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club...Also competed in softball in high school.

Personal:  Full name is Sarah Simmons...She is the daughter of Neil and Rhonda Simmons, and was born on Oct. 2, 1991...Majors in accounting, and plans to become a partner in an accounting firm...Joined the swimming team because she wanted to be a part of team that shares the same passion she does...Earned a spot on the Dean's List and she is a member of the Transfer National Honor Society...Also involved in ALOBEAM Society on campus...Held an internship with Bank of America...Her other interests include traveling...Her favorite book is A Million Little Pieces, and her favorite food is sushi...Says the best part of being an A&T student-athlete is making long-lasting friendships.
