competitive tennis in three years after suffering a labrum injury before her
senior year in high school...Will look to start with
Kenya Colbert in doubles again this season...Holds a 4-9 career singles record
and a 6-9 doubles record...Coach Dunwoody says her strength is her ability to
play smart and to know how to win, and looks for her to improve maintaining her
racket speed in 2013...Named to 2011-12 MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic
Team. Is a member's of the Dean's List and was named Academic Student-Athlete
of the Year
2012 Season: Played in 13 singles matches and 15 doubles
matches...Tied Victorea Austin and Kimberly Stalling for the team lead in singles
wins with four, and combined with Kenya Colbert for the most doubles wins as
the combo went 6-8...Finished the year 4-9 in singles matches...Made eight starts
and won three times at the No.5 singles position, and made five starts and won
once as the Aggies No. 6...Went 6-6 with Colbert at the No. 3 doubles spot, and
0-2 at the No. 1 doubles spot...Won a team-best three conference doubles matches...Won
four out of five doubles matches with Colbert from Jan. 29 to Feb. 17.
High School: Competed at the varsity level for
three years at Walter Payton College Preparatory....Was a three-time Illinois
High School Association Tennis State Qualifier...Was the 2007 Illinois High
School Association Tennis Doubles Sectional Champion, the 2006 Chicago Public
High School No. 1 Singles Tennis City Champion...Also won the Walter Payton
College Preparatory Tennis MVP Award in 2005, 2006 and 2007...Two-time
third-place finisher at the Illinois High School Association Tennis
Championships.
