Bill Dunn enters his second season with North Carolina A&T as an assistant track and field coach.

Dunn is responsible for middle and long distances runners at A&T. The 2015 MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships were a step forward for the Aggies distance program. Darren White earned second-team and third-team All-MEAC honors in the 3000 and 5000 meters respectively. A&T also took third in the distance medley relay.

During the 2014 outdoor season, White was also able to capture third-team All-MEAC honors in the 3000 meter steeplechase. In Dunn’s first season working with the Aggies, 800 meter runner Christian Harrison finished second at the 2013 MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at A&T’s Irwin Belk Track.

Dunn joined the Aggies following five successful seasons at Methodist University as head cross country and assistant track & field coach under current North Carolina A&T director of track and field programs, Duane Ross.

Methodist track and field athletes broke 13 school records under Dunn's tutelage. Every middle and long distance runner set personal best during his tenure. Dunn was responsible for coaching Kristy Zeiler to a career that included two USA South Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year awards, All- Region, seven Mason Dixon Conference Championships, and 20 All-Mason Dixon conference honors.

Dunn has also coached athletes to 41 individual Mason Dixon indoor conference champions, 47 individual Mason Dixon outdoor champions, one Mason Dixon Outdoor Athlete of the Year, four USA South All-Cross Country athletes, 18 Methodist scholar athletes, and two Academic All-Americans. Dunn has also aided Methodist to three Mason Dixon conference championships, a fourth-place finish at 2012 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships, a fourth-place finish at 2011 NCAA Indoor National Championships, and third-place finish at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor National Championships.

Dunn's passion for developing athletes has made him a well-known force within the USA Track and Field and AAU track and field communities. He has assisted in the development and coaching of several Junior Olympic National Champions. His expertise in mid-distance and long-distance running made him a nice fit for A&T.

Bill Dunn is a native of Kinston, N.C. where he attended Kinston High School and was a standout track and field athlete. After graduation he attended Shawnee State University and the University of Phoenix. He also did his tour of duty in the U.S. Navy before retiring and returning to North Carolina. Coach Dunn has his USA Track and Field Level 1 coaching certification and a USA Track and Field certified official.

Dunn holds his B.S., in management. He is married to the former Tania Mora and they have four children Tre', Anais, Brielle, and Talia.
